OXVA vs Vaporesso: Which Brand Should You Buy in South Africa?

By Krem Vape Studio July 24, 2026

Both OXVA and Vaporesso make some of the most popular pod systems in South Africa. If you’re choosing between the two brands, here’s how they stack up.

Brand overview

OXVA is a brand with strong MTL and RDL credentials — known among experienced vapers for build quality above what the price would suggest, and a range that covers everything from tight MTL to open RDL. Their Xlim series is widely respected, and the new Xlim Pro 3 is their current flagship mid-range device.

Vaporesso is a larger brand with a broader product range. The XROS line has become one of the most recognisable pod system families globally, consistently well-reviewed for ease of use, reliable performance, and value at each price point.

Price range at Krem

Brand Entry point Premium end
OXVA R280 (Xlim Go) R799 (DNA)
Vaporesso R429 (XROS 6 Mini) R599 (XROS PRO 2)

OXVA has the lower entry price at R280 and a wider premium range. Vaporesso’s current lowest device is the XROS 6 Mini at R429.

Build quality

Both brands build solid devices. OXVA has a slight edge in premium feel at equivalent price points — particularly on the Xlim Pro 3, SQ Pro 2, and DNA. Vaporesso devices are well-built and consistent, with the XROS line feeling refined for the price. Neither brand has a quality control problem.

MTL vs RDL

OXVA dominates on tight MTL performance. The Xlim series is specifically engineered for the tightest, most cigarette-accurate draw. Their V-Prime is a dedicated RDL (direct lung) pod system — a different experience from the Xlim line. Vaporesso’s XROS devices are excellent MTL performers with adjustable airflow that lets you fine-tune the draw from tight MTL to a slightly more open style.

Current flagship comparison

OXVA Xlim Pro 3 (R579) vs Vaporesso XROS PRO 2 (R599) — both are screen-equipped, variable-wattage pod systems with ~1500mAh batteries. The Pro 3 uses OXVA’s Pulse System for stable output; the XROS PRO 2 brings Vaporesso’s trusted XROS platform with full wattage control. At R20 apart, the choice comes down to brand preference and whether you prioritise the OXVA build quality or the XROS pod ecosystem.

Which should you choose?

Choose OXVA if: you want the tightest MTL draw, excellent build quality at every price point, or an RDL pod system (V-Prime). Entry-level: Xlim Go at R280. Mid-range with screen: Xlim Pro 3 at R579.

Choose Vaporesso if: you want a great all-round pod system that’s easy to use and widely supported. Mid-range: XROS 6 (R549). Screen + wattage control: XROS PRO 2 (R599).
